 Minimum Requirements
Most domestic animals can be registered. Pets must be 1 year old and have lived with the owner for at least 6 months.  All dogs must have basic obedience skills and have a good temperament.  Handlers must be atleast 10 years old.

Costs

There are some costs to becoming registered as a therapy pet team. These may include training, Delta Society Pet Partners registration, R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) registration, and group membership. Some of these costs are optional.

Pet Partners Registration Options/Support

Fees cover two years of registration.

  • Handler with 1 dog - $75

  • Each additional animal - $20

  • Volunteer without animal - $40

  • Senior (55+) or disabled handler - $40

(includes ID badge, dog tag, magazine, and liability insurance) 

Local FURever Friends Therapy Dog Training

  • Therapy Dog Preparation Classes - $40
    (6-2 hour classes, various locations)
     

  • Delta Home Study/Workshop Manual (includes shipping) - $30
    (Can also order this on website, cost is $37.50, plus shipping equals $45.00)

Delta  Society  Evaluation

  • One time fee for evaluator - $10-20
    (depending on evaluator and location)

R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs)  Training  (optional, but only for teams that are already registered with Delta Society) Visit our R.E.A.D. Program page

  • Group/Home Study Manual - $37

  • One-Time Individual Registration fee - $50

  • Group rate - $40, each additional animal -$5

Optional  Pet  Attire

  • Delta Society vest, bandana, patches

Emerald  Coast  FURever  Friends  Group  Membership (optional)

  • $20/year Dues for Individuals
